SMU senior Mouhammad Faye led Senegal with 16 points in a 76-58 semifinal round loss to Nigeria in the FIBA Africa Championships.

SMU senior Mouhammad Faye led Senegal with 16 points in a 76-58 semifinal round loss to Nigeria in the FIBA Africa Championships. The Senegalese led 19-16 at the end of the first, but fell behind 44-31 at the break as Nigeria cruised to the win. Senegal (4-4) faces Mali in the seventh-place game on Saturday. Faye went 6-of-17 from the field against Nigeria with two rebounds, two steals, an assist, and a block.

Faye has a team-high 140 points for the tournament to date and is second in average at 17.5 points per game. Boniface Ndong has 133 points to average 19.0 for the seven games he has played. Faye is also averaging 3.8 rebounds per game and shooting 47.2 percent from the field.
