"I really enjoyed it today. It was eye opening. I loved it," stated Kaiser to PonyStampede.com. "When I first arrived to practice today, I saw how they run practice and I really enjoyed it. I saw the coaches and how they taught and loved it. I really like this coaching staff."
One regarded as the state of Missouri's secret, Kaiser is quickly turning into one of the most coveted quarterback recruits in the Midwest. Currently he has an offer from SMU and reportedly will be getting an offer from Minnesota in the mail soon. He is also hearing from schools like Iowa, Michigan State, Kansas State, Kansas, Missouri, Arkansas, Duke, and Nebraska.
"I met with all the coaches, including Coach Jones. He told me that he was very interested in me and was looking forward to hearing from me again. I'm coming down to the spring game," said Kaiser. "I loved how much they threw the ball. That is what I like to do as a quarterback. It caught my eye especially when my coach was telling me about it, and I definitely got a clearer picture of it today. It was exciting."
The junior is 6-3 and 215 pounds. Seeing him on the sidelines at SMU practice, he definitely physically looks like he could play the part of a college quarterback.
So what does Kaiser know about the Mustangs?
"I did some research after they offered me, but I didn't know much. After today, I have a much clearer picture of what SMU is all about," said the 2010 gunslinger.
June Jones is picky when it comes to the quarterback position, so getting an offer from the offense mastermind, is exciting for Kaiser.
"It lets me know that I'm in good hands with the coaching staff and Coach Jones. Obviously with his record with quarterbacks, he is a good coach and knows what he is doing," stated Kaiser. "He told me that I have the tools to do it. With this coaching staff, I would have a lot better shot at going to the NFL one day in the future."
PonyStampede.com will have more on Steve Kaiser as it becomes available.
