Being loyal to one high school prospect paid off for June Jones and the SMU Mustangs.
According to defensive corner back J.R. McConico, that was the swaying factor in his decision to commit to the Mustangs Sunday morning following his official visit to the Hilltop.
"It was great," McConico told PonyStampede.com. "I didn't expect Dallas to be such a great city. There is so much to do there."
According to McConico, several of the schools that have offered him, hadn't stayed in contact with him over the past few weeks, not like the Mustangs have.
"SMU has been very loyal to me," McConico said. "I really loved it there, I decided it was the best thing for me to do was to become a Mustang. Some of the other guys have stayed in contact with me lately, not like SMU has."
McConico has official offers from Idaho State, UNLV and the University of Washington.
