Lawrence has SMU offer, any interest?
Who will win the services of one of the top running backs in the state of Texas? Missouri may be the outside leader for Rockwall Heath's running back Kendial Lawrence, although the talented runner won't name a favorite. With over nine official offers on the table, one school that entered the scene recently is Southern Methodist University. Mustang fans will have to place their hopes to land Lawrence on his former head coach and the current Coach and former Mustang player Tam Hollingshead. According to Lawrence he has a great relationship with his former coach; he is still best friends with Coach Tam's son Drew. Ironically Drew had committed to Houston and Coach Hollingshead is working at SMU, who has the advantage? "They both want me to attend their school," laughed Lawrence in a recent interview. "I'm sure who has the lead between the two." Lawrence has turned in several outstanding performances recently, leading his Heath to team to the state playoffs and an undefeated season so far. He has had several games over 200 yards per game and one over 300. He currently has over 1,800 on the season. "Right now I'm just focused on winning state," Lawrence said. "I will worry about where I visit after that." One school that Lawrence has confirmed an official visit with is Missouri. "They have been recruiting me for a long time," Lawrence said. "SMU was my last offer, they didn't offer until about a month ago. I'm considering all the schools that have offered me; I haven't ruled anyone out yet."
