One week SMU is in his top two schools and then the next week it's reported elsewhere that the Mustangs aren't in his top four schools.
Isi Sofele cleared things up Thursday night with PonyStampede.com.
"SMU is still in my top, they always have been," Sofele. "Like I told last time it will come down between Washington State and SMU."
The three star Scout.com running back has already made an official visit to Washington State, and perhaps the Cougars own a little edge for the talented runner's services because of the recent visit?
"They were in the lead, right after the visit," Sofele said. "They are pretty much even right now. I can't wait to my official visit to Dallas in December."
Sofele currently has nine official offers from schools including Washington State, SMU, Washington, UCLA, Air Force, Utah, UNLV, UConn, and Oregon State.
According to Sofele SMU has continued to recruit him very hard.
"They tell me all the time how much they need me," Sofele said. "I talk to their coaches a lot, they feel that I can come in and add an immediate speed element to their game."
The 5-foot-7, 175-pound athlete has been clocked this fall at a 4.3 forty.
"They like my speed a lot," the Scout.com three star prospect said. "They think I can come in and play right a way, the same way with Washington State."
There has also been a misconception of what position the Mustangs are recruiting the talented athlete at.
"They want me as their premier running back in their offensive system," Sofele said. "They aren't recruiting me for the defensive side of the ball."
Despite previous reports that SMU wasn't in Isi Sofele's top three, that doesn't appear to be the case. PonyStampede.com spoke directly with the talented running back Thursday night to get the latest on his recruitment. Does the Mustangs have a chance for his services?
