June Jones and Southern Methodist University have already garnered two important pledges from Dallas area athletes.
Another metroplex athlete that the Mustangs appear to be after is Lancaster's cornerback Demontre Hurst.
Hurst confirmed with PonyStampede.com in a recent interview that he has interest and an offer from SMU.
"Yes I have an offer from SMU," Hurst said. "I have a lot of interest in SMU; I have been to their campus several times. It's a great school with a great academic reputation."
Another factor that has Hurst's attention is the fact that SMU is close to home.
"I love that fact," Hurst said. "I would love for my friends and family to be able to watch me play during my college career. SMU is a type of school I would love to go to."
According to Hurst, things are wide open in his recruitment and he currently doesn't have a favorite.
"I have tried a couple of times to narrow the list, but it's been hard to do," Hurst said. "I'm still doing some research on the schools that have offered me."
Hurst, a 5-foot-11, 170-pound corner back with 4.4 speed, finished his junior season with over 60 tackles.
"I have a couple of friends that go to school at SMU," Hurst said. "I have been on the campus a lot."
Hurst currently has a 3.8 G.P.A and has already scored a 1290 on the SAT.
