Growing up on the Islands of Hawaii, Stanley Hasiak is very familiar with Southern Methodist University new Head Football Coach June Jones.

Jones, who spent the past nine years as the Warriors head man, apparently earned a lot of respect from native Hawaiians as he turned their program around.

"He was great here at Hawaii," Hasiak said. "Too bad he left, I really hated to see him leave."

Hasiak, a 6-foot-5, 325-pound lineman that runs a 5.4 forty, recently received an offer from SMU.

"Right now I have offers from SMU, Washington, Cal, UCLA, Arizona and Michigan State," Hasiak acknowledged. "The one from SMU is a verbal so far; I'm supposed to get the official letter soon."

Will Hasiak's relationship with the SMU staff give the Mustangs an advantage?

"I have some interest in SMU," Hasiak said. "It's good to keep your interest open to everyone that offers you. I might try to go for an unofficial visit and check things out. I'm doing some research about the campus, Dallas the city and see what it's all about."

Hasiak will make a West coast trip this month as he plans on visiting Cal, UCLA and USC.

"I'm going to the Rising Star Camp at USC," Hasiak said. "I'm excited about going to those schools and checking out their campuses."

According to Hasiak he is looking to see how comfortable he feels with a coaching staff and how the students make him feel on his visits.

"It all depends on who makes me feel like I'm home," Hasiak said. "That's where I will end up at, where I feel the most comfortable at."

Hasiak plans on either majoring in Sports Medicine or Sociology and recently made a 1520 on the SAT. He currently has a 3.5 G.P.A.

Hasiak has been nominated for the Army All-American Bowl in January, if selected the standout lineman plans on making his decision on which school he is choosing on National television.
