One of South Texas premier athletes and running backs is patiently waiting to see what offers will come in over the summer and fall.
Kirbyville’s Broderick Jackson currently holds one official offer from SMU; the standout running back is expecting more offers in the near future.
“Rice and Texas A&M seem very close to offering me,” Jackson told PonyStampede.com Thursday. “I’m glad I got the offer from SMU, it’s always good to get that first offer. I’m going to wait and see who else is going to offer me.”
Jackson was named the South East Texas Junior of the Year last fall along with earning First team All-District honors at running back on offense and at safety on defense.
“I plan on trying to take an unofficial visit there sometime this summer,” Jackson said. “I might go to camp there, not sure yet. With gas prices the way they are it’s tough to decide.”
Jackson is sure that he will be attending camps at Baylor, Texas A&M, and Rice and is considering going to Dallas for the Mustang’s camp next weekend.
“I want to see the school,” Jackson said. “I might go up for camp, I will just have to wait and see.”
Jackson, a 5-foot-11, 205-pound athlete that runs a 4.55 forty, is looking for a university with a strong business school.
“I plan on studying business,” Jackson said. “Finding a school with the best business school is important to me.”
Jackson has already scored a 24 on the ACT and currently has a 3.2 G.P.A.
