The Southern Jaguars made a huge play with the addition of three-star wide receiver Chuck Baker. Read more about in-state recruiting inside...

News surfaced a couple of weeks ago that Chuck Baker, a one-time LSU commit, was scheduled to take an official visit to Southern and the three-star wide-out subsequently accepted an offer from the FCS Jaguars. Baker, who was rated four-stars at one point, is a physical receiver that excels at blocking and is difficult to take down in the open field.

He was recruited to LSU by former WRs coach Billy Gonzales. Once Gonzales departed for Illinois, Baker's spot in the Tigers' class disappeared with new position coach Adam Henry favoring other receivers such as Kevin Spears (Holy Cross).

Loreauville receiver Jermaine Antoine hosted members of the North Texas staff last night for an in-home visit. As reported by HornedFrogBlitz.com, Antoine is currently a soft verbal to North Texas with an official visit set to TCU this weekend.

Nebraska offered Houston WR pledge Donald Gage (Zachary) yesterday. Coaches Terry Joseph and Bo Pelini each spoke briefly with Gage, who canceled visits to four schools after his Houston official. Gage says his father's favorite college team is Nebraska. Houston coaches Tony Levine and Brandon Middleton visited Gage last week. Nebraska's staff hoped to hear again from Gage last night or today. Right now, it's unclear if he'll visit Lincoln.

Mississippi State flipped Archbishop Rummel quarterback Damian Williams from Southern Miss. Williams committed to the Golden Eagles this month before taking an official to Starkville over the weekend. The Bulldogs will now have two Louisiana quarterbacks - Williams and Haughton product Dak Prescott - on the fall roster.

Duke Riley, three-star linebacker from John Curtis Christian, named LSU his leader after an official to Baton Rouge. TCU is right there behind the Tigers in the race to land Riley, who could announce his decision at any time. Tulane retains hope that Riley will change course and sign with the Wave. Ole Miss, once a frontrunner, reportedly backed off after Riley visited LSU instead of the Rebels.

Tulane added a commitment from Hahnville linebacker Sergio Medina, who played both sides of the ball for head coach Lou Valdin. Medina, who took an official with the Wave over the weekend, starred at running back as a senior but says Tulane likes him at linebacker. More details on this story later today.

There's been a flurry of activity at ULM, which added LB Sterling Doss (Salmen), DB Jarred Dunn (Richwood), QB Brian Williams (Bogalusa) and long snapper Trey Lamastus (Neville) to its commitment list. Big things are expected from Doss, who has all the tools but stayed largely under the radar after tearing his ACL in early 2012. Doss made a successful return to the field during his senior season.

McNeese State scored big with verbals from St. Paul's linebacker Ed Duplessis, Parkway defensive tackle Antonio McGhee and Catholic-Baton Rouge running back Khalil Thomas. McGhee was the Class 5A Defensive Most Valuable Player in 2012. The Cowboys also have commitments from St. Paul's safety Jay Washington and Archbishop Shaw wide receiver Kent Shelby.

Plaquemine all-purpose player Hakeem Deggs committed to Northern Colorado. Deggs held an early SMU offer but was forced to look elsewhere after recruiter Jeff Reinebold departed from the Mustangs for the CFL.

2014 defensive end Davon Godchaux (Plaquemine), a top 300 player nationwide, grabbed a Texas Tech offer, per recruiting analyst Austin Cooper of TigerSportsDigest.com.

Air Force nabbed Byrd safety Kieron Williams, who helped the Yellow Jackets to the 5A semis two years ago.

The Cajuns continued to impress by securing a verbal from West Monroe defensive back Xavier Woods, who reported a Stanford offer in May 2012.

Three-star defensive tackle Christopher Robinson (Woodlawn-Shreveport), an ex-Ole Miss commit, visited Southern Miss over the weekend.

Questions abound about the status of McDonogh #35 wide receiver Carlos Henderson. He's considered both a Cajuns and a Utah commit by different media outlets. Henderson, whose older brother Charles plays for Utah, visited Louisiana Tech last weekend.

Hahnville senior tight end Cody Morales committed to Nicholls State.
