Titans high on Thompson

Taylor Thompson

Taylor Thompson is easily finding his groove as a tight end in Tennessee. Though he played defensive end for four years at SMU, his past experience at wide receiver in high school is serving him well with the Titans.

As those on the up and up with SMU football know, Taylor Thompson switched from defensive end to tight end following last season because June Jones thought he'd find more success in the NFL on offense.

And so far so good, as the Tennessee Titans are quite keen on their new draftee.

"Strangely [the position change] feels comfortable to me," Thompson said in an interview with Nashville's FOX17. "I feel like I'm learning pretty fast."

Jones believes the 6-foot-6 Thompson has a chance to play a role like Rob Gronkowski does for the Patriots, so he'll definitely be an interesting player to watch.
