Larry Brown just added another transfer.
Not even a full week after picking up Arizona transfer Josiah Turner, Larry Brown and his staff have added former top 100 prospect Crandall Head.
Head pledged to Brown and his staff while on a visit to SMU.
“My visit was a great time,” Head told Scout.com. “Coach Brown is a great person and so is the whole coaching staff and surrounding staff. I think coach Brown can get me better and help me with my future.”
SMU assistant Jerrance Howard played in college with Head’s brother Luther and recruited Crandall to Illinois the first time around. In the end, that relationship played a major role in Head’s decision.
“Jerrance is like a brother to me,” Head said. “We’ve been close for a long time. He’s a great friend and great friend of the family.”
Head also likes the fact that SMU is headed to the Big East soon.
“Depending on who else we get next year going into the Big East, we should be pretty good,” Head said. “We are just going to come out and play hard.”
Head will be eligible in 2013.
