For the second time this season, Papa Dia has been named the C-USA Player of the Week. He averaged a double-double in both conference games against Memphis and Houston and tallied a career-high seven blocks against Houston.
The C-USA Player of the Week is selected by a panel of 12 media members covering the Conference USA schools.
In two games this week, Dia averaged 22.5 points, 10.5 rebounds, 4.0 blocks, 2.5 assists and 2.5 steals.
He led the Mustangs to an upset win over Memphis and nearly pulled off the victory against Houston, losing by a score of 70-68.
He scored 23 points against Houston and hauled in 11 boards, and to top it off, he accounted for seven blocks (a SMU record in C-USA play).
In SMU's 64-58 victory over Memphis, Dia scored 22 points and compiled 10 rebounds in a come-from-behind victory over the Tigers.
This is Dia's second time earning C-USA Player of the Week. He was named to the honor during the week of November 22.
